Chopin Airport Development is a member of the “Polish Airports” State Enterprise (PPL). It was established in 1998. Since 1 April 2016, Gheorghe Marian Cristescu has served as President of the Management Board.

Chopin Airport Development executes construction projects in the vicinity of Polish airports. It also provides hotel services and services related to the organization of conferences and leisure activities. CAD is also the investor, operator and administrator of existing facilities and greenfield construction projects. As a franchisee, it collaborates with the world’s leading hotel chains such as Marriott and Hilton.

The company is the owner and administrator of Courtyard by Marriott located in the direct vicinity of Warsaw’s Chopin Airport. This hotel is the winner of several prizes for the high quality of its services. In 2013, CAD opened two facilities in Warsaw and Gdańsk under the Hampton by Hilton brand. In December 2014, a Letter of Intent was signed with the Upper Silesian Aviation Group (GTL) to lease a plot for the construction of a hotel in the neighborhood of the Katowice Airport in Pyrzowice. The new facility will operate under the Moxy brand owned by the Marriott chain. The hotel will have six stories and 100 rooms.

In 2015, the Company’s portfolio was expanded to include the three-star Jurata Hotel, a leisure and conference center located on the Hel Peninsula. Construction work is also underway on a five-star hotel in the close vicinity of the Chopin Airport. The hotel will operate under the Renaissance brand which is a novelty on the Polish market.


Chopin Airport Development’s strategy involves the development of construction projects located in and around airports. The Company’s ambition is to be a leader in terms of quality, profitability and share in the market of projects developed in and around airports. CAD develops its construction projects using the synergies stemming from its membership in PPL.

The Company applies the franchising model to collaborate with the world’s leading hotel chains, including Marriott and Hilton. Thanks to its own know-how and access to the partner brands’ resources and portfolios, CAD may achieve the standard appropriate for the location and type of customers.

In managing the facilities, the Company taps into the vast experience of its managers and implements state-of-the-art procedures and advanced logistical solutions. The high quality of Chopin Airport Development’s projects and services is confirmed by numerous industry-specific awards.

One of the directions for the Company’s development is its involvement in the construction of ‘airport villages’ with commercial facilities.
